Presentation of Quilts to the Lighthouse Project
Only open to members only
The Club was inaugurated in 1993 to promote the love and creativity of patchwork and quilting through inspiration provided by local and international speakers and demonstrators. We currently have around 66 members. We also hold workshop days in Bredfield or Charsfield Village Halls where like-minded quilters, sewers, and knitters can meet up for a chat, seek advice on their projects and generally beaver away in convivial surroundings. Subscriptions are £12 per year plus £3 each month when attending our Wednesday evening meetings,on a Sewing Day £3.
From time to time the Club undertakes support of a charity and in the past we have held a 2-day “quiltathon” to support British Humanitarian Aid to the Ukraine. In 2007 we staged our first major quilt show in aid of East Anglian Children’s Hospices (E.A.C.H.). In 2009 we held our second quilt show supporting the work of the RNLI, E.A.C.H. and the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk. Money raised by our third quilt show In 2011 was donated to E.A.C.H., the Woodbridge Disability Advice Service, and Action on Hearing Loss. 2014 saw our most successful Quilt show every raising money for EACH and Suffolk Family Carers who each received £3,100 for their charities.
The club is currently making Quilts for the Lighthouse Project in Ipswich to be completed by April AGM 2017
We look forward to seeing you.
